Sales & Marketing Manager for Performance Chemicals

Our client: A MNC company based in Klang Valley.

To manage, plan, control and direct all the sales and marketing activities in the departments in both SG/MY to ensure that the sales target/profit is achieved, within budgeted expenses and in line with RBU/Country/Business Line Head strategic directions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, plan, and implement sales strategies of the departments to ensure that the sales target is achieved.
  • Motivate, supervise, and coach the sales team in their sales approaches and practices to ensure that they achieve their sales target.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and product strategies to ensure successful market penetration.
  • Analyse market trends by sourcing, collecting and compiling competitors' and customers' activities, and recommend course of action to management.
  • Source for new suppliers to complement the product by attending international fair, new product release and keep abreast on market activities.
  • Implement proper inventory management by planning and controlling the inventory level and forecasting. To ensure a reasonable stock provision.
  • Prepare departmental yearly budget and work towards achieving budget with constant review.
  • Develop and maintain favourable relationship with principals, update the principals with our market trends and activities.
  • Liaise and negotiate with principals on customer/market needs.
  • Provide support to after-sales services when necessary to ensure smooth running of the departments.
  • Assist sales team to deal with difficult problems and difficult customers when necessary.
  • Implement approved marketing programmes and ensure that programmes will be successful executed.
  • Recommend credit facilities to customers for management's approval.
  • Assist Finance department in monitoring debtors' list to ensure customers' payment are prompt, and direct sales team to follow up with payment collection.
  • Handle all Key Account customers of the departments personally with regular visits.
  • Serve as a member of the ISO / EHS committee as and when required.

Requirements:

  • Degree in related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in relevant industries e.g sales and marketing of industrial chemicals.
  • Prior experience in managing chemicals sales preferred.
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills.
  • Leadership quality with attributes in motivating and driving a team of sales personnel.
  • Good business sense/acumen and negotiating skills and good interpersonal skills.
